AMAZING THINGS ARE HAPPENING HERE: Adelene's Story

When Adelene Egan, a nurse in the Emergency Department of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, is on break she grabs her camera and walks the halls of the Hospital. She stops to speak with her fellow colleagues—nurses, doctors, physician assistants, and other medical staff—to hear their experiences fighting COVID-19 and snaps photos of them. These images accompany stories she writes about their work during this difficult time. Adelene’s compelling project, “Faces of the Frontlines,” provides a unique angle into the pandemic and serves as a tribute to the incredible healthcare heroes who risk their lives to save the lives of others.
