What is a Giving page?
A Giving page is a personalized fundraising webpage that fundraisers can share with their family, friends and colleagues to garner support for various causes and programs at NewYork-Presbyterian. Fundraisers can help make amazing things happen for patients and their families by encouraging their supporters to make a gift in support of NewYork-Presbyterian. For example a donation could be requested in lieu of purchasing birthday gifts or presents to celebrate a wedding. There are also many other creative ways to fundraise through engaging sports or group activites as well these could include a running a marathon, organizing a cycling or golf event, hosting a bake sale...and the list goes on!
Many fundraisers also choose to make a giving page in honor of or in memory of a loved one or a NewYork-Presbyterian staff member.
Why should I create a Giving page?
We believe that everyone can make a difference. Every gift, no matter what size, can make amazing things happen for NewYork-Presbyterian’s patients and their families. Every one of our doctors, nurses and staff are driven to provide our patients with world-class, innovative, compassionate and effective care you have the power to help us save even more lives and transform healthcare.
What should I put on my Giving page?
We have provided standard messaging about the mission of NewYork-Presbyterian and our commitment to our patients and their families that might help you get started with the content of your Giving page. However, personalizing your page will help your supporters understand why supporting NewYork-Presbyterian through a fundraiser is so important to you. Some ideas to personalize your page include uploading a photo of yourself relating to your fundraiser and some information on why you were inspired to support NewYork-Presbyterian. You could even upload a call-to-action video! All pages will include a thermometer to reflect the amazing progress of your fundraiser and will also include a donor honor roll to recognize those who have given in support of your fundraiser. There will also be a comment section at the end of your Giving page so supporters can leave comments.
Can my donors select a different area of NewYork-Presbyterian to support?
All donations will be designated to the area of NewYork-Presbyterian you have chosen to support in Step 1.
I just finished personalizing my Giving page. What now?
Tell your family, friends and colleagues about your page! Login to the Participant Center and send an email to your contacts informing them about your NewYork-Presbyterian fundraiser and Giving page and request their support.
How do I add photos?
Log in to your Participant Center. Select the Personal Page tab and select Photos/Videos on the right. Make sure radio button is selected on Photo. Click choose file, select your image, customize your caption and Save. Make sure your images are in .gif, .jpg, or .png format. Crop or resize your image to 455 pixels wide and 370 pixels tall.
How do I add a video?
Access your Participant Center. Select the Personal page tab and select Photos/Videos on the right. Make sure radio button is selected on Video. Place your videos Youtube URL and save.
How do I change my page name?
Log in to your participant center. Select the Personal Page tab and select Content. Customize your title and save.
How do I update my page content?
Log in to your participant center. Select the Personal Page tab and select Content. Customize your story under the Body. The font size, color, formatting, and font family can also be customized. If you would like to see what your content looks like, click preview and a sample of your content will show up in a new window. The preview will not save your content. If you are satisfied return to your personal page and save.
How do I personalize my URL?
Log in to your participant center. Select the Personal Page tab and select content. Select URL Settings, enter your preferred URL and Save.
How do I make my page private?
Log in to your participant center. Select the Personal Page tab and select Content. Select URL Settings, select Private and Save.
How do I update my fundraising goal?
On your participant center, the progress bar is placed under My Progress. Click Change under your goal. Edit your goal and submit.
How do I preview my personal page?
Log in to your Participant Center. Select Personal Page and select View Personal Page. A separate window will open allowing you to view what your page looks like to your friends and family.
How do I find out who donated to my page?
Log in to your Participant Center. Select the Progress tab to view donations. You will be able to view your personal donations, donations made by your friends and family, and who the top 10 donors are.
How do I send an email?
Log in to your Participant Center. Select the Email tab. Enter your friend’s name, email address, or choose from your contacts list. Provide a subject line and provide your customized content in the body of the email. The font size, color, formatting, and font family can be customized. If you would like to see what your content looks like, click Preview and a sample of your content will show up. You can also choose from templates provided. If you would like to use a provided template, select Use a template and choose your preference. Edit the name information and send!
How do I remove my page?
Once you have completed your fundraiser and would like your page to be removed, please email email@example.com or call Lynne Hewitt at 646.317.7364.
