In Memory of Stephen Rogers
Why I'm Fundraising for NewYork-Presbyterian
My father, Stephen Rogers, was recently a patient in the Critial Care Unit at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for the last 5 weeks. He has had multiple cardiac events over the last 30 years, but unfortunately, was unable to survive this last one. He peacefully passed away last Sunday, September 10 at 12:40am. His condition was complicated and required the highest level of care and specialty to have even the slightest fighting chance. I watched multiple doctors, nurses and nurse practioners provide the most extraordinary care. They threw their hearts and souls into curing my father's heart failure and making every effort to make him feel comfortable. They regularly called me when I couldn't be by his side and communicated with clarity and compassion, even when the news was grim.
I couldn't be more proud of their efforts and in memory of my father, I would like to raise money for the Hospital and designate the funds to the Cardiac Center and associated research.
All gifts, no matter how big or small, will make a tremendous difference. Your gift means so much to me and even more to so many others who depend on the doctors, nurses, and staff that form the NewYork-Presbyterian community.
Thank you for your support.
The funeral for Stephen Rogers will be held at 11:30am on Friday September 15th at the Joseph Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill, NY.
I'm fundraising for the Cardiology Care and Research Columbia Campus at NewYork-Presbyterian.
