Honoring April Martinolich and the Columbia Lung Transplant Program
Thank you for visiting and honoring April Martinolich with your donation to the Columbia Presbyterian Lung Transplant Program.
In 1994 our loving mother was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. For years and years following that diagnosis, she struggled with many health complications and had to alter her life based on her health needs.
In 2012, April was added to the national transplant registry and in June of 2012, successfully received a bi-lateral (double) lung transplant. In the few years surrounding that transplant, April became a grandmother of four, celebrated a major birthday milestone as well as a 40th wedding anniversary with her husband, Sergio. AMAZING!
The greatest gift April received was the gift of life through another family's tragedy. We are so thankful to that family as well as all of the doctors, nurses and medical professionals that allowed us all to celebrate more than 9 additional wonderful years with April.
We are thankful of your consideration in contributing to our fundraising memorial for NewYork-Presbyterian and the Lung Transplant Program. Amazing things are happening at NewYork-Presbyterian for patients and their families every day. We hope you will support this cause which is particularly special to our family.
All gifts, no matter how big or small, will make a tremendous difference. Your gift means so much to us and even more to so many others who depend on the doctors, nurses, and staff that form the NewYork-Presbyterian community.
Thank you for your support,
With love,
The Martinolich, Tuozzolo and Whigham Families
